History and culture

Xi 'an was called "fengho" in the western zhou dynasty. Fengho is the combined name of fengjing and haojing built by king wen of zhou and king wu of zhou respectively. Bo ji chang (king wen of zhou) of the western zhou dynasty built fengjing in the southwest of today's xi 'an city and moved his subjects there from qishan zhou yuan. He ordered his son ji fa (king wu of zhou) to build haojing on the east bank of fengshui. The latter was the political center, while the former was the religious and cultural center, collectively called "zong zhou", which was the beginning of xi 'an's construction. After king wu destroyed the shang dynasty and established the zhou dynasty, fenghao was the capital and xi 'an was the beginning of the capital. Prevails in the guanzhong and northwest in places such as qin said strum again, also called "which", commonly known as "Guang reel". Shaanxi dialect, one of the official dialects of the central plains represented by the guanzhong dialect, is deeply influenced by the mandarin, but it still retains some ancient sounds and words.
